Ventilation

with fans and cooling vents to maintain the flow

Environment
Placing your PC/computer in an environment of high temperature can cause over heating of your system. Such as placing your PC/computer in the periphery of
devices which emit hot air right onto it or exposure to direct sunlight.
Overcharging
Some people are fund leaving the charger of their PC plugged in even when the battery is fully charged. Doing this won't only cause overheating it also reduces the battery life.
Outdated BIOS (basic input/output
system) is a
program responsible for the PC/computer system to get started after
you turn it on.
Ways to prevent overheating
Try to provide some elevation beneath the PC.
You could probably place a book underneath it or
buy a laptop stand. Any one suitable for you, as this have flat surfaces it will prevent the blockage of the vents. By doing so, you allow a lot more air
to flow beneath the laptop leading to efficient
dismissal of heat.
Ensure clearance of dirt or dust around the vent as the accumulation of dust can cause blockage to the vents.
Try using your PC/computer in a cooler environment avoid placing your PC/computer with devices or gadgets which generate high temperature.
Never leave the charger plugged in when your battery is full.
In order to prevent overheating it is advisable to
keep updating your BIOS.
To check the version of your system BIOS Go to Run > Type msinfo32.exe and check
your BIOS Version. In case a newer version
is available on the website of your PC
manufacturer, go ahead and download it.
